Background

I have always drawn or painted wildlife and animals as they are a particular passion of mine.  I just think that it  is amazing that we are privaledged to share our world with them. There is so much variety of colour and texture, and the best bit is that they were all created with litttle characters of their own.....the challenge is to capture their characters on canvas!

I grew up in Derbyshire and so the countryside has always been a big part of my life.  I remember as a girl hiding in a game of 'hide-and-seek', in the field at the bottom of the garden and a little stoat came out of the wall and ran around me and then back....lovely.

I now not only paint animals but have discovered that no matter how young or old a person is, they are really interesting to paint too.  The eyes especially bring a person to life, or sadly make them look lifeless.
